(Shrine of Our Lady of the Sacred Mountain)

Description:
With the car through Novi Velia, you reach the point of stopping place to share 1.060. Here originates the final part of the ancient route of the pilgrims. Going uphill on the asphalt road, after about 100 meters, take the path on the left. You will immediately notice since it's paved with sandstone. The route is very scenic, well designed rooms and steadily without straining Walker. For several lookout you can see the site of Elea - Velia and Palinuro. After about 3 km trail leads on paved road in a curve. Continue to the left, in words, and after about 1 km we arrive at the foot of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Sacred Mountain, today pilgrims from every country in the Cilento and beyond. We sense a great heap of stones votive, arranged as a kind of overlapping conical. Continue on the paved uphill to the square outside the church summit (q. 1705 slm). The view here is 360 °, by the sea in front of Elea-Velia to the Valley of Rofrano with Mount Cervati (q. 1.898 slm). We return utizzando the same path.

• Need to wear comfortable clothing suitable to the period and sports shoes with rubber soles not smooth (preferably hiking)
• The sanctuary is open to worship and visits from late May to the second Sunday in October
